Welcome to the Steinbach & Area Garden Club Website!

Have a look around the site to get to know the various projects our club is involved in. If you are able, please join us at one of our meetings.

Our meetings are usually held on the second Monday of each month. We meet at 7:00 pm at the Mennonite Heritage Village in Steinbach unless special arrangements have been made at another location.

We keep you up to date on events using our website, the local radio stations CHSM AM1250 & MIX 96.7FM, as well as phone calls and e-mails to our members.

Prairie Garden Books

    Prairie Garden books are now in! The new Prairie Garden books feature a shade theme and will be available for sale for a special member price of $12.

Prairie T.R.U.S.T. Project Results Now Available

The Prairie T.R.U.S.T (Testing of Rural and Urban Shade Trees) Project, spearheaded by The Western Nursery Growers Group has been testing new cultivars and other underused trees since 2008. Over 150 species of trees have been evaluated at commercial nurseries in Portage la Prairie ( Manitoba), Saskatoon(Saskatchewan) and Strathmore and Edmonton (Alberta) .

The results of the trials for 2008 – 2016 are now available online. Visit the Prairie T.R.U.S.T. website at Prairie Trees
to learn more about the project, read the trial results and discover the new trees that you may find at nurseries in the future.
